Home Security Tips
- Set timers to turn on lights when you are not at home. Noise is a great deterrent so consider putting a timer on a radio while you are away.
- Stop delivery of mail and newspapers while you are away.
- Check who is at the door before opening it.
- Don't hide extra keys in obvious places. If you must hide a key, the further away from the door you hide it, the harder it is to find.
Fact: Most residential burglaries happen between 8am and 5 pm. July and August are the most popular months for burglaries.
